ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:
- Born February 13, 1955 Oneonta, NY
- A professional Welder since 1976. Currently employed by General Electric Company, Global Research Center(GE GRC). Certified X-ray Quality welder on high temperature and high pressure piping systems. Also excellent at welding material of small size, using magnifiers in the process.
- I've had no art training, but use my life experiences in my art which allows me to bring metal to a softness and warmth uncharacteristic of metal sculpture.
- I created my first metal sculpture 'Entrapped' in1995.
- Have exhibited multiple pieces at GE CRD art shows since 1998
- The Stockade Art Show, Schenectady,NY was my first exhibit in the general public1999.
- The Doorway was chosen from the Stockade Art Show to be on exhibit in the Schenectady County Museum’s Best of the Stockade show ’99.
- Learned glass bead making from Rosita Walsh of Urban Glass, Brooklyn, NY in February 1998. I have taken the basics of bead making to the level of minature paperweights you can wear.
- Exhibited glass beads in the GE CRD Art show 1999.
- Member of the Glass Bead Society since 1998
- Member of the Glass Art Society since 1999
- Opened the Samuel E Gallery, October 2001
- First public commission "Rejoice" for Freedom Park, Scotia,NY, June 14th 2003
- Advisory Committee Member for the Upstate NY 9/11 Memorial
- On the Board of Directors for the Glenville Arts Center
- First Corporate commission "Our World" for GE Global Research Center, June 22nd 2005
